I like to invite my Chinese friends for a traditional Christmas dinner, but I've had a couple of very disappointing (and outrageously expensive) restaurant Christmas dinners here. So I was wondering if anyone can list some fun places to hang out. Places with a good selection of people from all over the globe and can understand English. I here Shekou is a good place but it seems way out from the main areas like LuoHu or Huanggang.
Does it have to be the bar scene or nightclub?
Is there any Local Expat girls or guys who can lend me a hand in this?

I find it very hard to find a tub of Dreyer's ice cream that is not freezer burned or where the packaging is not damaged or worn. I'm a big Ice Cream fan but they don't even offer a plain chocolate or mint chocolate chip. Is there any place that takes care of it? I have seen it in bad shape in Jusco and 7-11. I think I'll refrain from shelling out over 60RMB for this quality.
