Open Question: Guangzhou to Shenzhen: Train or Taxi? Which method of transportation is easier for a tourist?

I will be visiting China and staying in Guangzhou by the end of November. I will need to make a half day visit to Shenzhen during my stay. How do I go to Shenzhen from Guangzhou? Train or Taxi? Please provide me with a detailed route and cost of each method as I have been told that communication with the local people there is a major barrier to moving around.

Also, what are the duration by train and by taxi?
