CANTON, Massachusetts - Dunkin' Donuts said it plans to open its first shop in Shanghai, China, this spring, with 100 more Chinese franchise locations planned over the next 10 years.

Jia and I returned to Shenzhen yesterday from our short trip to Guangzhou and the US Consulate. I have no idea if everything we submitted was in order--and we probably won't know anything for about six months or so.

Happy Ocean Out - Brazilian BBQ In the Shopping Park across from Coco

The shopping park seems to really be busy. Lots of building seems to be happening in there. I mentioned many months ago about Happy Ocean, a bar and restaurant that wanted to bring a fusion of French and Chinese cuisine. It never really caught on and slowly became a place that only opened occasionally for groups to have parties. Yesterday I saw it was under heavy construction. I decided to walk up and talk with a woman standing out front. She wasn't the owner, but she had some info for me. They hope to be open next week and it will be a Brazilian BBQ restaurant. I didn't catch a name, but I will sometime soon. Stay tuned.

Tea and Coffee Shop - Waffles, Eggs, Bubble Tea, Juice, Coffee, and more

As I was walking out of the Gou Wu Gong Yuan Station, I stopped and turned around to use the other exit that leaves you facing Norway Place Oslo. I don't know what made me use that exit, but I'm glad I did.

Freedom in Shenzhen

As my brother so graciously reminded me, I should've done something for July 4th. Oh wait, I did, I just didn't post it on the 4th.

Yesterday was the last day of classes for the year (great timing for independence). I also signed my new contract for a second year at the university--I should have a new visa in a week or two.
